Monitor Your Service Floor in Real Time with Live Floor
Track who's being served, waiting customers, and room availability at a glance from your dashboard.
What is Live Floor?
Live Floor shows you a real-time overview of your service floor—who's currently being served, who's waiting in the queue, and which rooms or chairs are in use or available. It's perfect for keeping your business running smoothly, managing wait times, and spotting bottlenecks.
How to access Live Floor
- From your Trimsy dashboard, click Live Floor in the sidebar
- You'll see your live floor status load instantly
Understanding your Live Floor view
Who's being served
The view displays customers currently in service. You'll see which staff member or team member is with them, what service they're receiving, and how long they've been in the chair or room.
Who's waiting
Customers in the queue appear separately so you can see:
- How many people are waiting
- How long they've been waiting
- What service they've booked
This helps you identify when wait times are getting too long and when you might need to call the next person in.
Room and chair status
Each room or chair shows its current status:
- In use — occupied and actively being served
- Available — ready for the next customer
- Maintenance or Closed — temporarily unavailable
Common uses for Live Floor
Check wait times at a glance
If the queue is growing, you can see whether you need to bring in another staff member or offer an apology discount if waits exceed expectations.
Track service duration
Monitor how long each service is taking. If a client is taking much longer than usual, you can check in with your staff member or adjust future appointments.
Manage your capacity
See which areas of your floor are busiest and which have space. This helps you decide whether to accept walk-ins or adjust your booking strategy.
Support staff on the floor
If a team member needs help or a customer has a question, Live Floor helps you identify who's available and who's currently occupied.
Tips for using Live Floor effectively
- Keep it visible. If you have a staff room or reception desk, consider keeping Live Floor open on a screen so everyone knows the current status.
- Update status manually if needed. If a staff member forgets to mark a customer as served, you can update it directly to keep the queue moving.
- Use it to plan breaks. Spot slower periods to schedule staff breaks without impacting service.
- Monitor trends. If certain times of day are consistently busy, use this data to suggest customers book during quieter slots.
Troubleshooting
Live Floor isn't updating
Refresh your browser or log out and back in. Make sure your bookings are properly synced by checking that staff have marked customers as "in service" and "completed" in their booking screens.
A customer isn't showing in the queue
Check that their booking is confirmed in your system and falls within today's schedule. Cancelled or moved bookings won't appear on the live view.
Room status is stuck
Manually update it by marking the previous service as complete in your bookings list, which will free up the room for the next customer.
