Trimsy is the booking and queue management platform we wanted to use ourselves — flat monthly pricing, zero commission, your own customer relationship. No marketplace siphoning off your regulars. No surprise per-transaction fees. Just a fixed AUD subscription and the freedom to run your business the way you want.

Why we built it

Service businesses were getting squeezed.

By the early 2020s, the booking software market in Australia had drifted into two camps. On one side, "free" marketplaces like Fresha — generous on the surface but quietly skimming 20%, sometimes 35%, off every new-client booking. On the other, the legacy enterprise platforms — feature-rich but charging $75-200/month per location and forcing you onto their card processor. Neither was a good answer for a single-chair barber in Newcastle or a three-location pet groomer in Brisbane.

We started building Trimsy in 2024 with a deliberate constraint: no commission, ever. Every dollar your customer pays at the chair, on the website, or via SMS stays in your business. Trimsy makes money on a flat monthly subscription — the way software is supposed to.

Everything else flows from that decision. We don't have a "marketplace" because we'd have to take a cut to fund it. We don't lock you into our card processor because that's another commission in disguise. We chose Twilio at-cost for SMS so we never make money on a reminder. The model is the product.
