How to Use Live Floor to Monitor Your Service in Real Time

Track who's being served, waiting customers, and room or chair availability at a glance with Live Floor.

What is Live Floor?

Live Floor gives you a real-time overview of your service business operations. You can see which customers are currently being served, who's waiting in the queue, and the status of your rooms or chairs—all in one view. It's ideal for busy days when you need to keep track of workflow and ensure no customer gets missed.

How to access Live Floor

  1. In your Trimsy sidebar, click Live Floor.
  2. Your Live Floor dashboard will load, showing the current status of your service areas.

Understanding the Live Floor view

Once you're on the Live Floor page, you'll see:

  • Currently being served: Customers or clients who are actively receiving your service in each room or chair.
  • Waiting queue: A list of customers waiting for their turn, in order.
  • Room or chair status: Visual indicators showing which service areas are occupied, free, or temporarily unavailable.

How to use Live Floor during your day

Monitor active services

  1. Glance at the currently served section to see which staff members are with which customers.
  2. Check how long each service has been running to identify if anything is falling behind schedule.

Manage the queue

  1. Look at the waiting list to see the next customers in line.
  2. If a room or chair becomes free, you'll see it update automatically—call the next customer from the queue.
  3. If a customer needs to be moved, rescheduled, or skipped, you can make adjustments from this view.

Check room and chair availability

  1. Scan the room or chair status indicators to identify which service areas are ready for the next customer.
  2. If a space needs cleaning or maintenance, you can mark it as temporarily unavailable to prevent double-booking.

Tips for getting the most out of Live Floor

  • Keep it visible: Leave Live Floor open on a tablet or monitor at your front desk or staff area so everyone can see the current status.
  • Stay updated: Live Floor refreshes automatically, so you'll always see real-time changes without needing to refresh the page manually.
  • Use it during peak times: Live Floor is especially helpful when you're fully booked and need to manage flow quickly.
  • Train your team: Make sure all staff members know how to read Live Floor so they can respond to queue updates independently.

What if something isn't updating?

If Live Floor doesn't seem to be showing the latest information:

  1. Refresh the page in your browser.
  2. Check that bookings have been confirmed in your Trimsy system—Live Floor only shows customers with confirmed appointments.
  3. If a staff member checked a customer in manually (not via the system), refresh to see the update.

Live Floor works best when your team consistently marks customers as started and completed within Trimsy. This ensures the real-time view stays accurate and your queue flows smoothly.
