Why Trimsy Charges 0% Commission on Every Payment You Process

Some booking platforms take a cut of every transaction. Trimsy does not — and the financial difference compounds quickly. Here is why it matters.

Some booking platforms charge a percentage of every transaction that runs through their software. This commission model — typically 0.5% to 2% of every payment — is easy to overlook when evaluating software, but it compounds quickly.

On $30,000 of monthly revenue at a 1% commission rate, that is $300 per month — $3,600 per year — paid to the platform on top of your subscription fee.

Trimsy charges no commission. Zero, on every payment, on every plan.

Why the Commission Model Exists

Booking platforms that charge commissions justify it by saying their revenue grows with yours — as your business succeeds, so does theirs, without adding cost on their side.

The problem is that it also misaligns incentives. A platform making money from your transactions has no interest in helping you reduce that commission. You pay more as your business grows. The more successful you are, the more you pay them.

What Trimsy Charges Instead

Trimsy earns revenue through flat monthly subscription fees on paid plans. On the free plan, there is no charge at all. On paid plans, you pay a predictable monthly amount regardless of how much revenue you process.

This means:

  • A salon doing $10,000 per month pays the same subscription as one doing $50,000 per month
  • Growing your revenue does not grow your Trimsy bill
  • You can model your actual software cost without variable revenue assumptions

The Maths Over 12 Months

If your business processes $25,000 per month through its payment system:

A 1% commission platform costs $250 per month in commission alone — $3,000 per year before the subscription fee. On top of a $100/month subscription, that is $4,200 per year.

Trimsy's flat subscription at the same scale is significantly lower — and does not increase as your revenue grows.

What You Still Pay

Trimsy's 0% commission policy applies to the platform. You still pay the payment gateway's processing fees — Stripe's 1.7% + 30¢, Square's flat rate, or Tyro's per-transaction rate. These are charged by the payment processor, not by Trimsy, and are unavoidable regardless of which booking platform you use.

The distinction matters: Trimsy does not add a layer on top of those processing fees. What the gateway charges is all you pay.
