Moving to Trimsy from Booksy

For Australian salons that want to pay no commission on any booking and don't need a US-style marketplace.

What comes across, and how

You do the import yourself, in this order. Nothing is switched on until you say so.

1

Your client list

Export your clients as a CSV, then upload it. You map the columns yourself — name, phone, email, notes — so a file laid out any way still lands correctly. Nothing is guessed.

2

Your services and prices

Same again: upload the list, map the columns, adjust durations and prices before anything is saved.

3

Your staff

Add the team and their roles. Small enough to do by hand for most businesses, and importable if it is not.

4

Your appointments

Upcoming bookings import too, matched to the clients, services and staff already brought across — which is why those three go first. Past appointments come in as completed history.

  • Nothing is emailed to your clients when a booking imports — no confirmation goes out for an appointment they made weeks ago somewhere else.
  • Imported future bookings DO get the normal reminders. Turn reminders off in your old system on the day you import, or a client gets told twice.
  • A booking that would double-book a staff member is skipped and listed for you, never written. If two systems disagree about a slot, you see it rather than discovering it when both clients arrive.

Be realistic

What does not come across

Worth knowing before you start, rather than after.

  • Past invoices and payment records. They stay in your old system, which you should keep read-only access to for your own records regardless.
  • Photos, files and message history attached to clients in the other platform.
  • Anything your old system will not export. We can only import what you can get out — if their export is thin, that is the ceiling.

A changeover that does not need a closed day

  1. Day 1Import clients, then services, then staff. Set your hours and booking rules. Nothing is live yet — your existing system keeps running exactly as it is.
  2. Day 1Import your upcoming appointments. Anything that clashes is reported rather than written, so you can settle it before it matters.
  3. Day 2Check the imported diary against your old one, and take a test booking end to end: confirmation, reminder, the customer view.
  4. Switch dayTurn reminders off in the old system, then point your booking link at Trimsy. New bookings land here from that moment.
  5. After thatCancel the old subscription once you are satisfied. Export a copy of your records first — you own that data and you should keep it.

Questions

What people ask before they move.

How is Booksy's commission structured?

Booksy takes a percentage of new-client bookings made through their public marketplace (typically ~25% of the booking value, varies by region and plan). Repeat clients are commission-free. Trimsy never takes a commission.

Will I lose marketplace traffic if I switch from Booksy to Trimsy?

Yes — that's the trade-off. If a meaningful share of your bookings comes from Booksy.com discovery, you'll need to replace it with Instagram / Google Business Profile / website / word-of-mouth. Most established salons do this anyway and prefer keeping 100% of the booking.

Does Trimsy work with US payment processors?

Trimsy is currently AU-focused. Stripe Connect supports US merchants, so it works technically — but our pricing is in AUD and our support is AU-hours. For US-only salons, Booksy or one of its US-native competitors is probably a better fit today.
