Switching
For barbershops, salons and other walk-in or appointment businesses that want a dedicated walk-in queue, in-person EFTPOS on their own Square or Stripe account, and booking/POS depth — rather than a broad invoicing-and-accounting suite.
You do the import yourself, in this order. Nothing is switched on until you say so.
Export your clients as a CSV, then upload it. You map the columns yourself — name, phone, email, notes — so a file laid out any way still lands correctly. Nothing is guessed.
Same again: upload the list, map the columns, adjust durations and prices before anything is saved.
Add the team and their roles. Small enough to do by hand for most businesses, and importable if it is not.
Upcoming bookings import too, matched to the clients, services and staff already brought across — which is why those three go first. Past appointments come in as completed history.
Be realistic
Worth knowing before you start, rather than after.
Focus. OneBookPlus is an all-in-one business suite built around invoicing and full accounting (GST, BAS, bank reconciliation) with bookings added — it can replace your accounting software. Trimsy is a booking, walk-in queue and in-person POS platform for appointment and walk-in businesses, and does not do accounting. If you want one tool for the books and the diary, OneBookPlus is broader; if walk-ins, a live queue and in-person EFTPOS are central, Trimsy fits better.
Not that it advertises. OneBookPlus has online booking pages, but no dedicated live walk-in queue, kiosk self check-in, or SMS "you're next" alerts. For a busy barbershop that takes walk-ins, that queue and kiosk flow is the main reason to choose Trimsy.
On its free plan and trial, card and bank-debit payments taken through OneBookPlus carry a platform fee of up to 2.5% on top of Stripe's processing — waived once you're on a paid subscription. Trimsy never adds a platform fee on any plan: you connect your own Stripe or Square account and pay only that processor's normal rate.
It depends what you need. OneBookPlus bundles more logins per tier (Plus is $49 incl. GST for 5 logins) and adds full accounting and payroll. Trimsy Growth is $49.99 for 3 staff, $7 per extra seat, and adds the walk-in queue, kiosk and in-person Square/Stripe EFTPOS. If you need the books and payroll in the same tool, OneBookPlus is strong value; if you need the queue and in-person POS, Trimsy is the better fit.
