Switching
For Australian service businesses that have outgrown a "just a scheduler" tool and need walk-in queue, in-person POS, multi-staff rosters, or loyalty — without paying enterprise-level prices.
You do the import yourself, in this order. Nothing is switched on until you say so.
Export your clients as a CSV, then upload it. You map the columns yourself — name, phone, email, notes — so a file laid out any way still lands correctly. Nothing is guessed.
Same again: upload the list, map the columns, adjust durations and prices before anything is saved.
Add the team and their roles. Small enough to do by hand for most businesses, and importable if it is not.
Upcoming bookings import too, matched to the clients, services and staff already brought across — which is why those three go first. Past appointments come in as completed history.
Be realistic
Worth knowing before you start, rather than after.
No. Acuity has a 7-day free trial and then three paid plans: Starter at US$16, Standard at US$27 and Premium at US$49 a month on monthly billing (checked September 2026; tax is extra). Trimsy has a 14-day trial and starts at $24.99 AUD a month.
No — Acuity is a pure appointment scheduler. If you have a service business that mixes walk-ins with bookings (barbers, beauty walk-ins, queue-based services), you'll need a separate kiosk/queue product. Trimsy combines both in one platform.
In the United States, yes — Acuity offers Tap to Pay and card readers through Stripe or Square. Acuity's own pricing page marks both as US-only, so an Australian business takes online payments only. Trimsy takes cards in person in Australia with Square Terminal or Stripe Terminal, as well as online.
Yes — Australian businesses can and do use it, and it handles Australian time zones. The catches are practical ones: it is billed in US dollars, so the cost moves with the exchange rate; its in-person card features are US-only; and it has no GST-specific invoicing or BAS reporting. Trimsy is built and billed in Australia, in AUD, with GST-compliant invoices.
It depends what you have outgrown. If you only take appointments online, Acuity remains a good tool. If you also serve walk-ins, take cards at the counter, roster staff, or send quotes and invoices, you want something that does those in the same place — which is what Trimsy is for.
If Acuity is doing everything you need (solo consultant, appointments only, online payments only), stay. If you've added staff, in-person card payments, walk-ins, loyalty, or multi-location, Trimsy will save you the stack of add-ons.
