Products — selling retail items through the POS
Add shampoos, styling products, and other retail items to your catalog so they can be sold at the POS and tracked in inventory.
Products are physical retail items you sell through the POS — shampoos, conditioners, styling products, accessories, and anything else you sell at the counter. They are separate from services and do not create bookings.
Adding a product
Click + New Product and fill in:
- Name — the product name as it appears in the POS and on receipts
- Brand — optional brand name for display and filtering
- SKU / Barcode — optional reference code. If you have a barcode scanner, entering the barcode here allows you to scan to add the product to the POS cart.
- Price — the retail selling price
- Cost price — what you pay for the product (used for profit margin reporting)
- Stock quantity — how many units you currently have on hand
- Low stock alert — notify you when stock drops to or below this number
- Category — group products by type (e.g. "Hair Care", "Styling", "Accessories")
Inventory tracking
Every time a product is sold through the POS, its stock quantity decreases automatically. When stock reaches the low stock threshold, a warning badge appears on the product in the catalog list and in the POS.
To adjust stock manually — for example, after a delivery or a stock count — click the product and use the Adjust Stock button. Enter the new quantity and a reason (received delivery, stock count correction, damage, etc.).
Hiding a product from POS
If a product is out of stock or discontinued but you want to keep its history, toggle Active off. Inactive products do not appear in the POS search or category grid but remain visible in the catalog list with an Inactive badge.
