Queue — managing walk-in customers

The Queue page handles customers who arrive without an appointment. Add them, call their name, and mark them as served — all from one screen.

The Queue page is designed for tenants that take walk-in customers alongside booked appointments. Customers can add themselves to the queue by scanning a QR code, using the kiosk tablet, or by being added manually by staff.

Reading the queue board

Each queue entry shows:

  • Position number — their place in line
  • Customer name — or "Walk-in" if they did not provide their name
  • Services requested — the service they selected at check-in
  • Wait time — how long they have been waiting
  • Status badge — Waiting, Called, In Service, or Done

Adding a customer manually

Click Add to Queue. You can add an existing customer by searching their name or phone number, or add a new walk-in by entering just a name (phone and email are optional). Select their services and click Add.

Calling a customer

When a stylist is free, click the Call button next to the customer's name. This updates their status to "Called" and — if they are using the Trimsy customer app or joined via a link — sends them a notification that their stylist is ready.

Starting service

Click Start to move the status to "In Service." This records the time service began, which feeds into the wait time analytics in Reports.

Completing a customer

When their service is done, click Done. You are then prompted to proceed to the POS to process payment. You can skip payment if it was already handled or if it is a complimentary service.

Removing from queue

To remove someone without serving them — for example, they left — click the three-dot menu on their entry and select Remove. You can optionally mark this as a no-show.

Queue settings

You can customise the queue display message, enable/disable QR check-in, and set the maximum queue length from Settings → Kiosk.

Real-time updates

The queue board updates in real time across all devices. Staff on the floor, the kiosk tablet, and the admin dashboard all see the same live queue without needing to refresh.
