Set up automatic Google review requests for happy customers
Ask satisfied customers to leave a Google review after their appointment or job completion to build social proof.
What this is
Review requests automatically prompt your happy customers to leave a Google review after they've completed a booking or job with you. This helps build social proof, improve your online reputation, and attract more business through word-of-mouth and search visibility.
When to use it
Enable review requests when you're ready to actively build your Google review base. It works best once you've had a few successful bookings and want to encourage satisfied customers to share their experience.
How to set up review requests
- Go to Manage ▸ Growth ▸ Reviews
- Look for the option to enable automatic review requests
- Toggle review requests on
- Choose when the request should be sent:
- Immediately after a booking is marked complete
- A few hours after the appointment ends (e.g., 2–4 hours later)
- The next day
- A custom delay you specify
- Add a personalised message if prompted (optional). Keep it brief and friendly—something like: "We'd love to hear about your experience! If you were happy with our service, please leave a Google review."
- Confirm and save your settings
What happens next
Once enabled, Trimsy will automatically send a review request to customers' email addresses after their appointment or job ends. The request includes a direct link to your Google Business Profile, making it easy for them to leave a review without hunting for your business online.
Tips for better response rates
- Send requests at the right time. A request 2–4 hours after an appointment works well—customers remember the experience but aren't overwhelmed by emails.
- Keep it genuine. Only ask truly satisfied customers. Trimsy won't send to customers who've had negative experiences or cancellations.
- Personalise when you can. A brief, warm message performs better than a generic request.
- Make it easy. The link in the email does the heavy lifting. Customers just need to click and share their thoughts.
What you need
- A Google Business Profile set up and verified
- Customers' email addresses in your booking records
- At least one completed booking or job
Troubleshooting
Customers aren't receiving requests
- Check that their email address is correct in their booking record

Can I request reviews for past customers? This depends on your Trimsy plan. Contact support if you'd like to request reviews from existing customers.
Why reviews matter for your business
Google reviews directly impact your search ranking and influence potential customers' booking decisions. Customers are more likely to book with you if you have genuine, positive reviews. Even a small number of reviews (5–10) can significantly boost your visibility in local search results and Google Maps.
