Comparison

Trimsy vs Azura Booking — two Australian 0%-commission salon platforms compared

Azura Booking is a new Sydney-built booking and payments platform for salons, barbers and nail techs — A$29/month flat, unlimited staff, 0% commission, with Stripe online payments and Zeller EFTPOS in person. Trimsy is an established Australian platform covering booking, a walk-in queue, in-person POS, jobs and invoicing, priced per plan with staff seats. Both are Australian and commission-free, so the choice comes down to team size, payment hardware and how much beyond booking you need.

Pricing and features checked against Azura Booking's public pages on 14 October 2026.

For an Australian salon or barbershop weighing Azura's flat unlimited-staff price against Trimsy's broader, more established toolset — choice of card processor (Square or Stripe) and a live in-person POS.

Where Trimsy is the better fit

  • Choose your own card processor — Square Terminal or Stripe Reader (Azura is Zeller-first)
  • Live, proven in-person POS today (Azura's full walk-in POS is still in development)
  • More beyond booking — jobs, quotes, GST invoices, agreements, intake forms, loyalty, gift cards
  • Native iOS app, and a longer track record than a brand-new platform

Where Azura Booking is

  • Azura is cheaper at scale — A$29 flat with unlimited staff beats Trimsy once you pass ~3–4 staff
  • Azura offers a longer founding-partner trial (first 3 months free) vs Trimsy's 14 days
  • Simpler if all you need is booking + payments — Azura is more focused
  • Azura advertises AI no-show prediction; Trimsy's AI features are limited and Growth-only

Is Azura Booking cheaper than Trimsy?

At scale, yes. Azura is A$29/month flat with unlimited staff, so for a shop with four or more chairs it is cheaper than Trimsy Growth ($49.99 for 3 staff, then $7 per extra seat). For a solo operator or a one-to-two-person shop, Trimsy Essential ($24.99) is the lower entry price. Both charge 0% booking commission, so the subscription is the real cost comparison.

Do both handle walk-ins?

Yes. Azura lets walk-ins join the queue by QR code and shows them alongside online bookings. Trimsy has a live queue board with kiosk self check-in and SMS "you're next" alerts, plus an in-person POS to check them out. If the walk-in queue and in-person checkout are central to your day, Trimsy's is more complete today; Azura's full walk-in POS is still in development.

What about card payments and EFTPOS?

Azura runs Stripe for online payments and Zeller for in-person EFTPOS (with Tyro in development). Trimsy lets you bring your own Stripe or Square account and take in-person EFTPOS on a Square Terminal or Stripe Reader. So if you already use — or prefer — Square or Stripe hardware, Trimsy fits; if you are happy on Zeller, Azura works well. Neither adds a booking commission.

Which should an Australian barbershop choose?

Choose Azura if you have several chairs and want the simplest possible cost — one flat A$29 fee, unlimited staff — and you are happy with Zeller for EFTPOS. Choose Trimsy if you want a more established, broader platform: a live in-person POS today, your choice of Square or Stripe, a native iOS app, and jobs, quotes and invoices alongside bookings. For a one-to-three-chair shop that wants depth, Trimsy; for a larger team that wants the lowest flat fee, Azura.
