Comparison

Trimsy vs Fresha — which booking platform is right for your business?

Fresha is a global salon booking marketplace with a "free" subscription model, funded by per-booking commissions on new clients booked through their marketplace, plus card-processing fees. Trimsy is an Australian SaaS that charges a fixed monthly subscription with 0% per-booking commission. Here's how they actually stack up.

Best fit: For salons that hate giving away 20–35% of every Fresha-marketplace booking — or want to own the client relationship without the marketplace pulling them away.

✓ Where Trimsy wins

  • No commission on any booking, ever
  • Walk-in queue management — Fresha doesn't do this
  • AU-based support and billing
  • Square Terminal / Stripe Connect — pay the lowest card-processing rate you're eligible for
  • You own your customer list

Where Fresha may be the better choice

  • ·No marketplace traffic — clients have to find your business directly
  • ·Smaller brand recognition than Fresha (we're an Aussie startup, not a global platform)
  • ·Smaller third-party integration ecosystem

Frequently asked

Does Trimsy charge per booking like Fresha?+

No. Trimsy is a fixed monthly subscription. There is no commission on bookings made through Trimsy — whether they come from your booking page, walk-ins, or a returning client. You only pay your card-processor (Stripe or Square) their standard rate.

Can I import my Fresha client list?+

Yes. Fresha lets you export your client database as a CSV; Trimsy has a CSV importer that maps name, email, phone, birthday, and notes. You'll keep all booking history once they re-book through Trimsy.

How does the card-processing fee compare?+

Fresha charges 2.29% + 30c on their built-in card processor. With Trimsy you connect your own Stripe Connect or Square account and pay whatever rate you qualify for — typically 1.7% – 2.2% in Australia for in-person, slightly higher online. For high-volume salons this saving alone can be worth more than the Trimsy subscription.

I get a lot of new clients via the Fresha marketplace. Will I lose them?+

Probably yes. Fresha's marketplace traffic is real and meaningful — that's what the 35% commission pays for. If your business depends on marketplace discovery, Fresha may still be the right fit. If most of your clients come from Instagram, Google, word-of-mouth, or your own website, Trimsy will be cheaper.
