Using Live Floor to Monitor Service in Real Time

Track who's being served, who's waiting, and room status at a glance with Live Floor.

What is Live Floor?

Live Floor gives you a real-time view of your business operations—see which customers are currently being served, who's waiting in the queue, and the status of each room or chair. It's ideal for busy service businesses like salons, spas, and clinics where you need to manage multiple staff members and spaces at once.

How to access Live Floor

  1. Log in to Trimsy.
  2. In the sidebar, click Live Floor.
  3. You'll see your current floor layout with real-time status updates.

Understanding the Live Floor display

The Live Floor screen shows:

  • Rooms or chairs: Each space in your business (e.g., "Treatment Room 1", "Barber Chair A").
  • Customer names: Who is currently being served in each space.
  • Service type: What service is being performed.
  • Waiting queue: A list of customers waiting for their appointment, in order.
  • Status indicators: Visual cues (often colour-coded) showing whether a space is occupied, free, or unavailable.

Checking who's being served

  1. On the Live Floor screen, look at each room or chair.
  2. The customer currently occupying that space will be displayed with their name and service.
  3. You can see at a glance how many customers are in service and which staff member is with them.

Viewing the waiting queue

  1. Look for the Waiting or Queue section on your Live Floor screen.
  2. Customers are listed in the order they'll be served.
  3. Next to each name, you may see their service type and estimated wait time.

Managing room and chair status

  1. On the Live Floor, each space shows its current status:
    • Occupied: A customer is being served.
    • Free: The space is available for the next customer.
    • Unavailable: The space is closed, being cleaned, or maintenance is underway.
  2. If you need to mark a space as unavailable (e.g., for cleaning), tap or click the space and select the unavailable option (exact wording varies by your setup).
  3. Once ready, change the status back to Free.

Keeping your team on the same page

Live Floor works best when:

  • All staff members have access to a shared screen or their own Trimsy login.
  • You check it regularly during service hours to stay aware of queue length and bottlenecks.
  • You use it to prioritise which customer should be called next.

Troubleshooting

The queue looks wrong or outdated

  • Refresh the page or step away and return to see the latest status.
  • Ensure all staff are confirming when customers arrive and when services finish in Trimsy.

A customer isn't showing as waiting

  • Double-check their booking is confirmed for today.
  • Confirm they've checked in or been added to the queue in Trimsy.

Rooms or chairs aren't displaying

  • Verify they've been set up in your business settings (often under Manage ▸ Services or similar, depending on your account configuration).

Live Floor updates continuously, so you'll always see the most current picture of your floor and queue.
