POS — processing payments at checkout

The Point of Sale screen is where you ring up services and products, apply discounts, and take payment at the end of each visit.

The POS (Point of Sale) screen is where every checkout happens. You can access it from the sidebar, from a completed queue entry, or from a completed appointment.

Starting a sale

When you open the POS:

  1. Select a customer — search by name, phone, or email. If the customer is not in your system, click Guest to proceed without a customer record (no loyalty points will be earned).
  2. Add items — the POS automatically pre-loads any services the customer had today (from the queue or calendar). You can also manually add services, products, packs, and gift cards using the search bar or category buttons.

Adding items

Click a service, product, or pack from the category grid on the right. Each item appears in the cart on the left with its price. You can:

  • Change the quantity using the + / – buttons
  • Edit the price of any line item (useful for applying a one-off discount)
  • Remove an item by clicking the X

Applying discounts

Click the Discount button to add:

  • Percentage discount — e.g. 10% off the entire sale
  • Fixed amount — e.g. $5 off
  • Promo code — enter a code you have created in Catalog → Promo Codes

Payment methods

After reviewing the cart total, click Charge. Choose the payment method:

  • Card (Stripe) — prompts the customer to tap or insert their card on the Stripe reader
  • Card (Square Terminal) — sends the charge to the paired Square terminal
  • Cash — enter the amount tendered and the change is calculated automatically
  • Split payment — divide the total across multiple methods
  • Pack redemption — deduct from a customer's pre-paid service pack
  • Gift card — redeem against a gift card balance
  • Complimentary — mark as free with an optional note

Completing the sale

Once payment is confirmed, you are prompted to send a receipt by email, SMS, or print. The transaction is recorded in Transactions and the customer's visit history is updated.

Refunds

Processed payments can be refunded from the Transactions page. You cannot initiate a refund from the POS directly.
